Uncle Jack's Liquor: Robbery, satire & Florida vibes in GTA VI

Leonida The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI gave fans a glimpse into Rockstar’s next big playground and one of the standout moments was the scene featuring Uncle Jack’s Liquor, a fictional store that may be small in size but huge in GTA-style personality.

A Heist Begins Here

Uncle Jack’s Liquor is seen during a robbery sequence involving main characters Lucia and Jason, making it one of the first locations tied directly to the game’s story. The store is located in Port Gellhorn, a coastal city in the state of Leonida Rockstar’s fictional take on Florida.

With neon lights, barred windows and dusty parking lots, the storefront oozes that grimy-yet-vibrant Florida charm.

Inspired by Real Florida Icons

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Uncle Jack’s bears a strong resemblance to real-world Florida chains like Big Daddy’s Wine & Liquors and Flanigan’s, both local legends. Following the trailer, Flanigan’s even responded on social media, acknowledging the likely homage. Rockstar, of course, remains silent as usual.

From the signage to the storefront colors, Uncle Jack’s feels like a love letter (or roast?) to South Florida nightlife and late-night liquor runs.

Rockstar Humor: On Display

True to form, Rockstar didn’t miss a chance for comedy. One standout detail? A sign inside the store reads:

“We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear.”
That’s GTA humor in a nutshell irreverent, blunt, and oddly believable.

More than just a background shop?

While we don’t know yet if Uncle Jack’s will be explorable beyond the trailer moment, the detail and real-world parody suggest it could be part of interactive missions, robberies, or even owned properties in GTA Online.

As always, Rockstar’s attention to detail hints at bigger things.
